Dear Members,

It is greatly to my honour that I have been elected as President of The Hong Kong Institute of Housing 2008/2009 and by this opportunity, I wish to express my heartfelt thanks to Mr. Cliff Wong and members of the previous General Council who have devoted much valuable time to serve the Institute.

In addition to preparing for the cerebration activities of the 20th Anniversary of the Institute, our corporate plan has been devised as follows:-

(a)

Co-ordination with various Government departments by providing professional advice and assistance so as to cope with their ongoing policies and activities.

(b)

Hong Kong has been returned to China since 1997. However, our Institute has, so far, still failed to articulate with most cities in Mainland. Therefore, it is our primary objective to establish close relation/communication with those relevant institutes/associations in order to exchange valuable experience and acquire complementary benefit through the process.

(c)

Intimate connection and close co-operation with brother members of The Hong Kong Professional Property Services Alliance.

(d)

Close connection with CPD Alliances in Hong Kong and try to adopt their merits for improvement. For those corporate members who have failed to comply with the CPD requirements in time for one reason or other, the Institute should try its best to assist them in order not to lose their support and memberships.

(e)

Preparation of a DVD to cerebrate the 20th Anniversary of the Institute and request of members to lend out their memorial photographs for the preparation.

(f)

Invitation of members of the mass media for periodic tea receptions to promote harmonious relationship and the image of the Institute.

(g)

Formation of Sub-committees Vice Chairmen.

(h)

Circulation of minutes of meeting of Sub-committees to all Council Members prior to each Council Meeting well in advance to facilitate transparency and efficiency of the meeting.
