To whom it may concern,

First Phase of All-out Anti-mosquito Operations 2023

In light of the local dengue fever (DF) cases recorded in recent years that DF is highly prevalent in neighbouring areas, the government departments will continue to intensify their mosquito prevention and control work covering areas under their purview.  In addition, effective mosquito control should require the sustained effort of all parties concerned.  The community must work together with the government to carry our effective mosquito control measures.

2.                In the spring, the weather will turn warm and humid which is favorable for mosquito breeding.  It is paramount importance to work hand in hand with the community and organization to strengthen mosquito control measures to prevent large scale mosquito breeding in a short period of time.  The All-out Anti-mosquito Operations (the Operations) in 2023 would be launched in two phases.  The first phase will concentrate on eliminating potential breeding places, especially through repairing structural defects, during the cooler months and start from 20 March 2023 The second phase combines the effort of fogging and larval control and will commence before the rainy season, depending on weather conditions (e.g. the continual rise of average temperature to above 25℃ and start of rainy and humid weather, e.g. continuous raining for a few days that may mark the coming of mosquito breeding season).  The commencement of the second phase of the Operations will be announced separately in due course.

3.                For concerted efforts in anti-mosquito work, all departments will carry out regular fogging operations and preventive measures in areas under their purview with reference to the note as attached.  The Operations will continue until the end of the rainy season (around October/ November) and notification would be sent to all departments when the Operations end.  You and your members are encouraged to participate in "the Operations" by commencing to arrange the anti-mosquito work at the venue under your management.

4.                To keep the public abreast of the latest situation of mosquito infestation and assist them to take timely mosquito prevention and control measures, you are cordially invited to advise your members to take early action on mosquito control measures.  The template letter is prepared below for your consideration issuing to members for necessary action.
