Date & Time | 10 March 2023, 4:00 – 5:30 pm |
Topics | Eco-certification of Existing Buildings – A BEAM Plus Perspective Eco-certification of existing buildings is gradually becoming a trend in Hong Kong. In this talk, we have pleasure to have the Head of Green Labelling of the Hong Kong Green Building Council to brief us about the latest arrangement on Volume Certification of Existing Buildings. The Volume Certification programme started three years ago and have received nearly 300 registrations from companies that manage large portfolios of properties. The speaker will also draw on a dedicated research study about the eco-certification of existing buildings in Hong Kong, to shed light on what the city can do better to transform its aging stock of existing buildings. On the incentives to join BEAM Plus, the speaker will brief us about the fast-growing area of local green mortgage, and conduct a review of Inland Revenue Department’s accelerated tax deduction incentive. Finally, the speaker will take us through an advance view of BEAM Plus future development, including the launch of a revised fitting-out rating tool, and an initiative to further revamp the Existing Buildings rating scheme. |
